While it is our practice to respond to requests for public records as quickly as possible, the Public Records Act allows the District up to 10 (ten) days to determine whether the documents will be disclosed. The Act also provides that, in certain circumstances, the government agency may determine that additional time is needed to respond, not to exceed fourteen (14) additional days.
