• Do not squish, burn, or twist ticks while attached.
• Use tweezers to gasp the head of the tick as close to the skin as possible and pull straight out.
• Use gloves or a tissue or if needed your fingers to remove tick.
• Wash hands and bite site with soap and water after tick removal.
A localized reaction or affection can occur where tick was attached. If redness or pain develops at the bite site, consult your doctor.
