Physical control

Physical Control is achieved by manipulating the environment to reduce mosquito breeding sites. This can be done by:

  • Making the habitat unattractive to the pest
  • Promoting effective water drainage
  • Controlling vegetation
  • Changing irrigation patterns
  • Removing standing water
  • Encouraging best management practices in urban, agricultural and conservation areas
